Explore Apothecary Crafting, Balance, and Luck in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature

Hey friends! So I finally sat down and re‑watched the Enchanted by Nature gameplay trailer (and combed through the official Sims blog) about a million times, and omg there’s so much in here that I need to talk about.

I’ve tried to group it into themes so it’s not a total brain dump, hope this helps you see everything at a glance!

I’m focusing this post on everything except fairies. I’ll make a separate post for fairy stuff.

🌱 Natural Living Skill & Nature Nomad Aspiration

This feature ties in with the Natural Living Skill and the new Nature Nomad Aspiration. Sims will have the chance to:

✔️ Eat, bathe, sleep, and thrive fully off the land
✔️ Embrace a simple life away from modern comforts
✔️ Forage ingredients (including eating frogs, as seen in the trailer)
✔️ Use the Privy Bush when nature calls

⚗️ Become a Naturopath Healer

The pack also brings a new Naturopath Healer career.

🧪 It’s an active career where your Sim will:

  • Diagnose patients with ailments
  • Craft elixirs and potions to cure them
  • Use the new Apothecary Table to combine foraged ingredients and create powerful remedies

✨ Elixirs & Apothecary Table

Using the Apothecary Table, Sims can craft:

🧴 Emotional potions like Freezer Bunny Foot, Lucky Liquid, Need Stop, Fearless, and Supernatural Shield
⚡ Elixirs to cure ailments, boost luck, protect Sims, or even cause mischief (like Noxious Gas or A Wee Drink, as shown in the trailer)

⚖️ New Balance and Imbalance System

The Balance system is a brand-new mechanic.

🧘 Sims can become balanced or imbalanced based on their actions and surroundings.

✔️ Staying balanced gives benefits to mood and health
✖️ Becoming imbalanced can cause negative moodlets or effects

🍀 Luck System

The expansion also introduces Luck!

🌟 Sims living in Innisgreen may experience good, ordinary, or bad luck, which can affect their:

  • Career
  • Love life
  • Cooking
  • Foraging
  • Other interactions or tasks

🧿 Achieving balance may require a little luck. Luckily, there are two Luck Charms that can be found, purchased, or made at the Apothecary Table to modify your Sim’s luck – for good or bad.

✨ In the trailer, there’s even a “Luck” moodlet saying “Knock on wood, my luck is good!”

🤒 New Ailments

Sims can now get new ailments, like:

  • Gnome Lure
  • Creation Impulse
  • Emotional Void

🩺 These ailments need to be diagnosed and treated with specific elixirs crafted at the Apothecary Table, making the healer career super interactive.

🪴 Houseplants That Need Care

For indoor players, the pack adds new houseplants that aren’t just decoration anymore.

🌿 They’ll need water, care, and companionship to thrive. You can place them on shelves, tables, and floors to create your dream indoor jungle.

Enchanted plants will water and weed themselves – though they do tend to attract pixies. But hey, at least they’re cute!

🌸 Three New Magical Plants

Sims can plant three new magical plant types. Each has its own unique gameplay benefits to discover.

🌿 The Moody Shrub allows Sims to extract emotions directly from it
🌸 An Aura Blossom can affect your Sim’s luck or imbalance – just be careful not to anger it!
Lightning Root is another plant to watch out for – it can electrify your Sim if you’re not careful

I love how this expansion is blending fantasy with off-the-grid gameplay to create something totally unique.

What part are you most excited for – living off the land, becoming a Naturopath Healer, or brewing magical elixirs?
