Hey Simmers! If your ReShade or GShade stopped working after the most recent EA App update, you’re not alone. The Sims team just confirmed it was an unintended side effect of a change on their end, and the good news is there’s already a fix.
What Happened
- A recent EA App update changed how the launcher handles certain DLL files.
- That tweak accidentally blocked many popular shader mods.
- Players saw errors or blank screens whenever they tried to load ReShade or GShade.

Both Bee (from The Sims team) and community manager EA_Cade posted that:
- The latest EA App build addresses the problem.
- You might have to repair the EA App and reinstall your shader of choice afterward.

That’s it, no extra hoops to jump through.
Huge thanks to Amoebae (@pictureamoebae) for flagging this issue to the Sims team in the first place. Community heroes like them keep our games running smoothly for everyone.
Happy simming and enjoy those gorgeous screenshots again!
