The Sims Team just confirmed that a new Base Game update arrives tomorrow, August 25, and this one is expected to have an impact on mods, so it’s a good time to get your saves and mods ready before it lands. Whenever EA pushes a core update like this, custom content and mods can stop working properly, so a little prep now saves a lot of frustration later.
What you should do before the update
Back up your save files first, since this is the easiest way to protect your progress if anything goes sideways during or after tomorrow’s update. It only takes a few minutes, but it can save you from losing hours of building or gameplay.
Next, take a look at your Mods folder and get a sense of what you’re running, because knowing what’s installed makes it much easier to spot the culprit if something breaks. I’ll be checking my own CC and mods and will let you know if anything from me needs an update here.
