Ocarina of Time Arrives Tomorrow, and I’m Ready for Hyrule

I’m so excited for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2. I’ve already bought it, and I’m ready to start playing tomorrow as soon as it becomes available. The last day of waiting always feels longer when you already know what you want to play.

This is the kind of release that makes me want to clear a little space in my day, get comfortable, and let an adventure take over for a while. I haven’t played this remake yet, so these are the things I’m looking forward to before launch.

Ocarina of Time launches November 5 on Switch 2

Nintendo lists November 5, 2026 as the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. It’s a remake of the 1998 adventure, with Link’s journey across two eras of Hyrule rebuilt for the new system.

Tomorrow really can’t come soon enough. There’s something lovely about having a game waiting for you and knowing that, very soon, you’ll finally get to stop watching trailers and start exploring for yourself.

The changes I’m most curious to try

The refreshed presentation is a big part of the appeal: Nintendo has confirmed overhauled visuals, orchestral music, expanded dialogue, and fully voiced cutscenes. I’m especially curious about how the music and character moments will feel once I’m actually playing, with time to take everything in.

There are also changes to how Link moves through the world, including dedicated jump and dash controls and camera movement with the right stick. Those are the sorts of things I want to feel for myself. A trailer can give you a glimpse, but the first few minutes with a controller tell you something different.

The ocarina has a playful new touch

Alongside button controls, you can hum a melody Link has learned into the Switch 2 microphone to have him play it in the game. That’s such a fun little idea. I’m curious to try it, even if my humming is probably going to need some patience.

Watch the official overview trailer

If you’re counting down too, Nintendo’s official overview is a good way to get a taste of the adventure before launch. I’m sharing the trailer here for anyone who wants one more look before heading into Hyrule.

One more day until Hyrule

For now, I’m just enjoying that little burst of excitement before a game arrives. My copy is bought, I’m ready, and tomorrow I’ll finally get to begin. I don’t need to decide what I think of every change in advance; I’m looking forward to discovering how it all comes together while I play.

You can find more of what’s catching my attention over on the blog. Are you planning to play Ocarina of Time on launch day, or are you saving this adventure for later?
