New content is always fun, but I’m just as interested in updates that make everyday gameplay less frustrating. The Sims 4’s October 27, 2026 update is one of those patches where the fixes deserve a little attention of their own.
EA lists more than 150 bug fixes, including over 25 for Dine Out, plus 14 crash and stability fixes. Here are the changes that caught my eye in the patch notes.
Dine Out is getting some much-needed attention
The restaurant fixes target customers repeatedly leaving their tables, interrupted meals, and waiter behavior. EA also adjusted square tables with a light in the center to improve dining interactions.
For me, a restaurant visit should be a chance to enjoy the household’s story. The less time spent trying to keep everyone focused on dinner, the better. I’m glad this part of the game is getting another pass, though I wouldn’t treat one update as a promise that every restaurant problem is gone.
Loading screens and PlayStation fixes
- Loading: fixes address certain endless loading screens and affected saves that opened to a white screen.
- PlayStation: improvements target Live Mode-to-Build Mode loading and a crash when loading the main menu.
These are the kinds of changes I like seeing in a long patch list. They may sound less exciting than a new feature, but they matter when you just want to settle into a save and play.
A small heads-up for restaurant builds
EA warns that some tables may disappear from older builds after the footprint adjustment, particularly where Move Objects was used. Some affected save files may also need a little lot rebuilding after the loading fix.
I’d keep a separate backup before updating and give favorite restaurant lots a quick check afterward. If you use mods, my Sims 4 update-day guide is a useful place to start before jumping back in.
A baking fix for awkward counter placement
Get to Work’s Quickly Decorate interaction addresses a routing problem when baked goods aren’t centered on a counter. It’s a practical fix for a small issue that can interrupt a baking session.

The missing heels are back in Create a Sim
The powder-blue heels are visible in Create a Sim again. I’m glad to see an existing item back in the catalog where it belongs.

Sleek Bathroom Kit sorting fix
Several Sleek Bathroom Kit clutter objects now sort under Bathroom > Accents. That should make them easier to find while decorating.

Which fix are you most glad to see? I’d love to know what has made the biggest difference in your game.
