I’m really happy to see The Sims 4 giving Elder Sims some attention with this free update. Elders are one of those life stages that can sometimes feel a little forgotten, so it’s nice to see an update made with them in mind.
For me, aging up shouldn’t feel like a Sim’s story has run out of things to say. There’s still room for a new look, a home with personality, and a completely different chapter of life. More options to help tell those stories? Yes, please.
What’s included in the free Sims 4 Elder update?
EA’s October 27, 2026 announcement introduces free Create a Sim additions and Build/Buy pieces. Here’s a quick look at what’s included:
- Two hairstyles for Adults and Elders.
- Four clothing items: a sweater, lace dress, sleeveless blouse, and midi skirt with pockets.
- Five clothing recolors and four Styled Looks.
- Eleven Build/Buy items and a Styled Room.
- Four Elder Sims added to the Gallery.
A wardrobe refresh is a good place to start
I like seeing Elders included in a wardrobe update. Having a few more pieces to work with makes it easier to give each Sim a look that feels like their own, instead of treating their birthday as the end of their personal style.
I’d love to see this kind of attention continue. An Elder can be fashionable, playful, a little dramatic, or ready for something new. Their outfits should have room for that too.
Cozy furniture for homes with a little history
The Build/Buy additions include floral seating, a double bed, curtains, a rug, and a duck-shaped table light. There’s a cozy, nostalgic direction to the collection that could work nicely in a home that feels collected over the years.
That’s the decorating angle I find interesting: making a space feel like someone actually lives there. A favorite chair, familiar patterns, and a few quirky details can do a lot of the storytelling.
I hope this is the start of more attention for Elders
I’m glad these additions are free, and I’m especially glad Elders are getting a moment of their own. I’d love to see more reasons to stay invested in this life stage, because their stories deserve just as much care as every other Sim’s.
