Sims 4 Marketplace Is Now on Console

Sims 4 Marketplace Is Now on Console

Console Simmers, the wait is finally over. The Sims 4 Marketplace has officially arrived on PlayStation and Xbox as part of the April 16, 2026 update, meaning you can now browse and download Maker Packs directly from your console for the first time.

If you’ve been playing on PC or Mac and wondering what your console friends have been missing out on, this is it.

What Is the Sims 4 Marketplace?

The Marketplace is where you can find Maker Packs, which are custom content collections made by creators and sold directly through the game. Think of it like an in-game shop for community-made content. PC and Mac players have had access for a while now, and this update finally brings it to console.

If you’re new to the Marketplace and not sure where to start, I have a few collections available over there. You can find all of my Marketplace releases on my Marketplace page, which I keep updated as new collections go live.

How Much Storage Do You Get?

This is where things differ a little depending on your platform. On console, Kits are already bundled into the game files, so all of your available storage is dedicated entirely to Maker Packs.

Storage limits vary by platform:

  • PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players get 16GB of storage.
  • Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud players get up to 50GB of storage, and it scales up as you use it until it hits that maximum.

Storage is shared across all accounts on the same console, so if you share your PlayStation or Xbox with other people in your household, you’re all pulling from the same pool.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Note

If you play through Xbox Cloud Gaming, there’s one small catch to be aware of. You may need to re-download your Maker Pack content at the start of each new session. You can do this through the Marketplace Download Manager before loading your saves. The good news is that your Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, and Kits won’t need to be re-downloaded each time, so it’s really just Maker Packs specifically.

What Else Is New in This Update?

The Marketplace rollout to console is the headline, but this update also included a bunch of bug fixes and gameplay improvements that apply across all platforms. A few highlights worth mentioning:

  • The Gallery now has a Maker Pack filter so you can include or exclude Maker Pack content when browsing.
  • Create a Sim and Build Mode will show a Golden Star icon on newly installed Marketplace content so it’s easier to find your new purchases.
  • Several Marketplace display bugs have been fixed, including the Moola Wallet not updating after a purchase, packs showing as “Not Owned” when they were just deactivated, and download status incorrectly showing as failed.

There are also some big autonomy improvements and community-voted bug fixes in this patch that are worth covering separately.

Where to Start

If you’re a console Simmer jumping into the Marketplace for the first time, head to the Marketplace tab in the main menu and take a look around. Maker Packs vary a lot in style and content, so there’s a good chance you’ll find something that fits your gameplay.

Happy Simming!
